Pan Livery Visit to Royal Military Academy Sandhurst: Save the Date 22 June 2023. The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is opening its doors to the Livery for an exclusive day. The aim of the day is twofold; primarily to update the Livery on British Army Officer Training giving them access to a behind the scenes look at an internationally acclaimed Military Academy and, secondly, as a fundraiser for the Army Benevolent Fund and the Sandhurst Trust. The day commences at 10:00, concludes at 16:00 and will include:

  • Morning coffee reception
  • Presentation by a Major General on the RMAS curriculum, aims, overseas influence and setting the scene of how the British Army train and equip young officers for life in the British Army in 2023
  • Presentation by a recently commissioned young officer demonstrating the practical application of their skills on operations and exercises followed by a Q&A session
  • Drinks reception on the iconic “Steps” of Old College
  • A Livery photo on the Steps
  • A three-course luncheon with wine
  • A tour of RMAS including the prestige rooms, Chapel, History room and more

Ticket prices will be £140, and tickets are limited to 110 places; however, Livery’s may book a table of 10 at a cost of £1400. Reflections of the Lord Mayor, Tuesday 11 July, 2023 – a gala evening at the magnificent Stationer’s Hall, 5pm – 10.45pm. Former Lord Mayor, Alderman Vincent Keaveny in his reflections has chosen the theme ‘Innovation and Tradition in a Year of Change’. His time in office included three prime ministers and two monarchs, and he will discuss issues such as social mobility, investing in ESG, sustainable finance and the legacy of COP26. The Gala Evening includes a drinks reception and a superb three-course dinner. The Sheriffs are delighted to invite Liverymen to the Phantom at the Sheriffs’ Ball fundraising event, inspired by the wonderful book and musical Phantom of the Opera, which is being held at Guildhall on Friday 22 September: this year we are celebrating the seventh year of the Sheriffs’ Ball. As well as the ever popular dancing, the evening will include will include a drinks reception, three-course dinner with wine, fantastic Phantom themed entertainment and an illustrious DJ – the legendary William Bartholomew. The evening will be overseen by our Master of Ceremonies William Sitwell. All proceeds are in aid of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and we would also be very grateful for donations of auction prizes. Popular lots tend to be holiday homes or visits to places normally ‘off limits’. Members of craft-related companies may wish to donate an item that showcases their craft. The Master of The Worshipful Company of Woolmen invites Lverymen and their families to the annual Sheep Drive & Livery Fair on Sunday 24 September 2023.
